It's been a hard transition from middle school to high school. In middle school I got to slack a lot, since it was amazingly easy to pass eighth grade. My teachers never gave us any homework, so I got to do whatever I pleased after school. I pretty much had all A+'s.

This year I have two more classes than I used to have, and the teachers give us a lot more homework than I'm used to. So now I've got B's in most of my class (which is shockhorror to my mother) and I actually have to work. So two weeks ago my mother and I had a talk about how I needed to get my ass in gear, and I agreed. So the last two weeks I've been working on it. I really have.

But today my mother discovered that I have a zero in one of my classes, simply because my teacher hasn't put it into the gradebook. So she screams at me and gives me a huge fucking lecture. Here's the highlights.

You need to get your ass in gear!
You can make A's, you're just too fucking lazy!
I told you to get your shitty ass in GEAR!
If you want to go to fucking K-State, you need to get a scholarship!
It's not that hard!
You're fucking smart!
Your brother never had problems with so-and-so teacher!

Yadda yadda yadda.

After she chews me out she feels guilty, so she calls me back into her room to give me the same lecture, with the same words, just a little quieter.

Bitch.

Somehow I always manage to make a fool of myself once a day in Driver's Education. My blond moments have an unfortunate knack of happening when I don't really want them to. For example, today in Driver's Education my teacher asked me a question. "Megan," he began (because, of course, Megan is my real name) "In dat pitcher down dere on the bottom, which of dem cars have the right of way? The orange one or the red one?" Unfortunately there were two pictures at the bottom of the page, and I had no idea which one he was talking about. "If dey both stopped at the exact same time, which one has the right of way?" he asked.

"The one on the right," I answered robotically. My face was flushed, I hoped no one noticed.

"Which would be...?" he continued.

I had no idea why the orange car would be stopped, it looked as if it was going on a main street and the red truck was on a side street, fully stopped. Later I noticed there was a stop sign on the other street, too, but it really blended into the background well so I didn't notice it. "The orange one." I told him, confident that because the red truck was turning, it should wait for the oncoming traffic.

"Really?" he asked, and my face turned a darker red.

"No, I mean, uh, the red truck. Because it's on the right."

Somehow these embarrassing moments always happen to me in that one class. I made a complete fool of myself.. but it was only in front of six students. So I guess I can live. I'll show them on the road that I'm not a moron.

One was a picture book and the other [rrrrr... dunno what she said, she mumbled]. I'm on my way home.'
What. The. Heck.
Like she couldn't just get me a book about the Middle Ages or the Elizabethan Era.
Her excuse is that she thought it was for school, so I could just get it at the school library.
AS IF I HAVE TIME FOR THAT. *flail*
I don't even have time to go to my locker after school so I have to carry all of my crap home with me because otherwise my pain in the ass brother will just leave me at school instead of taking me home.
Jerk.
I want to read about Rome.
Or the Middle Ages.
Or the Elizabethan Era.
The world is unfair.
So this is my first journal entry that I've written on my laptop. Well, at least it's my first PUBLIC entry. ;]

My laptop is pretty old, actually, but I already love it. It's a Compaq Armada 7800. It only has a 13Mb hard drive, but that's okay. I can't run more than one program at a time anyway. ;] I tried installing AIM... big mistake. It froze up like water in the north pole. But that's alright.

I still love it, even if it is a piece of crap. I mean that in a lovingly way. Now I just need a name for him. I think it's a him. My friend named her laptop Persephone (Percy for short) and I wanna name mine.

I'm thinking about Egon or Elwood. Geeky I know. Most girls would ditch a man like me or lead me far away from their family." He was hoping for the latter, they would be safer far from him. (written by one of my friends)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today was my third day of high school. My brother was no more friendly to me than he has been the past three days. When we got out of the car, I waited for him. He walked three feet away from me to the doors of the school. Meanie. Anyway, whenever I pass him in the hallway he ignores me. We have the same lunch period, but I don't sit with him.
My friend Juana was all like, 'You don't sit by your brother?' and she sounded surprised. Hell no I don't sit by him! All my classes are basically in one hallway - I just have to go up or down the stairs to get to the second floor classes. My locker is actually a normal locker (not like the one that I had to jerk open and bang shut in junior high) and I also have the privilege to share it with my best friend.
I have a friend in most of my classes, except for Driver's Education. That room is unbearably hot! It's in a separate building from the main high school, so I have to walk across a street to get there. Well, okay, it's not really a street. It's a road.
WHAT. THE. FUCK.
DDDDD:
I was having a discussion with my dad about high school. He was asking something (can't remember what) and I said, 'I'm fine, dad, don't worry about me.' Which he responded to by saying, 'Well, I still worry about you.'
I asked him why, and he said because he knows I'm really intelligent and gifted (I'm in the Gifted program) and he knows I get bored with school because it's not challenging. So this has led him to believe that I will get bored with life, and then look up how to kill myself on the internet, and then do the dirty deed.
Right.
I mean - you guys know how cheerful I am. I'm crazy and insane and wild and I love life! Yet here my father is... thinking that I'm going to kill myself.
It makes me... sad. Family is supposed to know me the best, but here he is, thinking I'm going to do something that I would *never* do.
Makes me so sad.
I recently read one of my friends blogspot journals, and the way she writes her entries has inspired me to try mine the same way. :) It's just a test drive for myself, you don't have to read it all.
-----------
If you were to fly across the ocean or across the world, or maybe just drive across the state, you would find a girl sitting at her computer desk. Every day she types a little bit of her soul into the internet world, and every day she gets a little bit of it back. She trades the bad parts of herself (like how she fights with her mother) and is slowly filled back up with the good things. She reads about Persian leopards, global warming, and even awesome places she hopes to visit someday.
Her parents, bless their souls, believe she is talking to her friends. However, this young girl does so much more than that. She is making herself a better person. Because of the hours she spends on the internet each day, she is slowly learning more about the world. She was sheltered (not on purpose, of course) by her own doing. She didn't discover internet until she was twelve-years-old, just about two years ago.
In those two years she has learned Internet Etiquette, what lol means, and much more. She has gained knowledge that other people are too stubborn to find because they refuse to use technology to their advantage. But she uses it to her advantage - every day.
She looks up what to do with spider bites for her friend when she got bit by a spider. The young girl writes stories back and forth on a role playing site, and has slowly been learning about grammar and spelling. Although she might not be the best writer in the world - she is learning.
Progress, that is what she is making.
The young girl (lets call her Megan) is learning about herself. While other people just start learning about themselves in their early to late twenties, this young girl is very advanced. Her emotional level is advanced for her age, as is her intellectual level. She has mapped out how she would like her life to go. She makes lists of places she would travel to, people she would like to meet, foods she would like to try.
She doesn't plan on living. She plans on *really* living.
She wants to graduate with honors, maybe valedictorian if her friend wasn't smarter than she was. After that, she wants to be accepted into a veterinary school, and then she plans to move somewhere across the country so she can start fresh. No more high school with memories of hatred and embarrassment, of love lost and love gained. Just her.
Just the world.
It seems like a big place right now, and it scares the girl a bit. But she knows that she can do anything if she wants to do it. So she has set her mind upon really living, and achieving all of the things on her life goal list.
So, without further ado... Her life goals list. Hold on for the journey, it's a rather long list of places to go, people to see, charity to benefit.
* Eat sushi with Danielle
* Go rock climbing
* Donate a thousand dollars to the ASPCA
* Write a novel
* Walk across the country
* Visit London
* Meet Rebecca
* Attend my friends weddings
* Visit a coral reef
* Pet a ray in an aquarium
* Visit the Atlanta Aquarium
* Fall in Love
* Adopt a pet
* Foster a pet
* Own my own house
* Become a mother
* Have a backyard
* Lay on the sand and drink a margarita
* Get a tattoo
The List I posted on my MySpace on April 11th, 2007:
1.
Okay, so last night I was talking about how my brother worked late so the internet stayed on until three. Well, when the internet shut off at three, my brother and I went and played some Bushido Blade. Bushido Blade is pretty much like Tekken, except you have a weapon like a katana or sword or whatever. Plus, you don't have a health meter. On Bushido Blade, if you get hit in the stomach, you pretty much die because it's set up like real life. So if you get cut in your arm, you can't use it anymore. AWESOME, I KNOW. In the first one, if you got hit in the stomach with the blunt end of a katana or sword or whatever, you threw up. Fun fun.
Anyway, I went to bed at about four am. So now I am uber-tired.
:(
Eight things I absolutely cannot live without:
1. My Family (pets included)
2. My Friends
3. Books
4. the Internet/Technology in General
5. Music
6. Chocolate
7. Orlando Bloom/Gerard Way/Dougie Poytner (they're all tied)
8. Unicorns
1. My family is the most important thing in my life. If I didn't have them, who knows where I would be right now. Without their guidance, their support, their love... I wouldn't be a quarter of the person I am today. I love them so much. Even though they irritate me sometimes, I still love them to bits.
2. When I'm angry at my family, who do I turn to? My friends, of course. They love me even though I have quirks. They are my life savers, my safe place, the people I turn to when I have problems I don't want to share with my family. I couldn't survive if I couldn't talk to them... even my internet friends. I love you all so much!
3. Books are the thing in my life that entertain me. God knows how many books I have read. I surely don't remember. In the second grade I had like 200 A.R. points, when all the other people in that school only had about 100 at most. I love to read and write, they are the thing I use when I want to vent out emotions or write my day dreams down. Without them, I'd be stuck in the United States for the rest of my life.
4. Without technology, I wouldn't listen to any of the music that I have, I couldn't talk to my internet friends, I couldn't create pixel dolls or write or buy cool things from Fred Flare and Pixel Girl Shop. I would have never gotten into writing on HPRPGs, and I would never have evolved as a writer. Without technology... my life is too boring. I can't look up random facts about the fruit fly on Wikipedia, and school would be a lot tougher if I had to look up things via books.
5. Music is... God, an easier sentence would be describing what music isn't. Simply put, music is what helps me get through the day. No matter what I'm feeling, I can always find a song that matches it. I feel better once I know that even famous bands feel what I feel. It reminds me that I'm not alone in the world.
6. Chocolate is the food of the Gods.
7.The famous, gorgeous, sexy men are what keep me happy and squealing as I look up pictures of them shirtless on the internet. They cheer me up considerably. ;)
8. Unicorns are a symbolic item of my childhood innocence and imagination. They remind me that I can always be the sweet, innocent girl that I once was, even though my personality has changed. I still love unicorns, and I still have hundreds of unicorn items from when I was little and obsessed with unicorns. Most of these items my family bought me. So, in turn, unicorns remind me of how much my family loved me enough to buy me a silly item for my collection.
What would your eight things be?
Warning: Do not read this post if you have not read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and do not want the plot details to be spoiled for you!
I finished Deathly Hallows about two hours ago, and I'm celebrating with an ice cold glass of Dr. Pepper and a turkey/ham/cheese/tomato/bacon sandwich.
I'm satisfied with the book, but I was deeply saddened by all of the characters that died, and for the most part I died when most of them were killed, and when Harry visited his parent's home and graves. I'm making a list of people who died/how they died/whether or not I cried. Here we go.
Professor Charity Burbage: Muggle Studies teacher, killed with Avada Kedavra by Voldemort. Then she is fed to Nagini. Didn't cry cause I didn't know she even existed before this. :P
Hedwig: Killed by a Death Eater as Harry was being transported from the Dursley's to the Burrow. I cried a bit, poor Hedwig. :(
Alaster "Mad-Eye" Moody: Like Hedwig, he also died on the flight from Little Whinging. Avada Kedavra'd by Voldemort, fell to the ground. I didn't cry at all, I never liked him that much anyway. :P CONSTANT VIGILANCE. XD
Ted Tonks: Tonk's dad. He was Muggleborn, so he had to hide because the Ministry was hunting down all the Muggleborns. I was a little sad, he seemed like such a nice guy.
Dirk Cresswell: Killed when Ted was killed, for the same reasons. I didn't cry at all, I didn't even know him. D:
Gregorovitch: Umm. Yeah. Killed by Voldemort, I think, but I didn't cry at all. He was a wandmaker, he made Viktor Krum's wand.
Rufus Scrimgeour: Killed by Voldemort. I didn't cry, I hated him. XD
Grindelwald: Ditto, he was killed by Voldemort. Still didn't cry, didn't know him.
Wormtail: Was strangled by his own silver hand in the Malfoy's cellar. I didn't cry at all, he's such a little rat-faced betrayer. :P
Dobby: killed by Bellatrix Lestrange. Her throwing knife get's stabbed in him. He's buried by Fleur's and Bill's cottage, and Harry buried him. I cried so hard, his poor gravestone was so sad. :(
Remus Lupin: Killed in the battle at Hogwarts. I cried a lot, it was so unfair. He had just gotten married to Tonks and had his own kid. Shame. D: Miss you, Remus! Killed by the Death Eater Dolohov.
Nymphadora Tonks: Like her husband, she was also killed in the battle at Hogwarts, by Dolohov. I cried a lot in her death, I'll miss Tonks and her 'Wotcher, Harry!' Poor woman, her kid's an orphan. :(
Vincent Crabbe: HAHA YOU LOSER. He killed himself by making Fiendfyre and trapping himself in the room of requirement. I didn't cry, though it felt a little strange losing a character I'd known since the first book.
Severus Snape: Killed by a snake bite from Nagini. I didn't cry, I wanted him to die. Though learning that he had been in love with Lily and had wanted Voldy to spare her and was really a good person made me hate him less.
Fred Weasley: I LOVE YOU FRED, I'LL MISS YOU DARLING. :( What's Fred and George without Fred? D: He was killed by a Death Eater (Rookwood) in the battle at Hogwarts. I cried a lot, it was so unfair.
Colin Creevey: Poor Colin was also killed in the battle at Hogwarts, even though he wasn't supposed to be fighting because he was underage. Oliver Wood carried his body back to Hogwarts. I cried a little, though it was a mixture for him and Fred. :(
Nagini: HAHA YOU BITCH. Neville killed the snake by lopping off it's head with Gryffindor's Sword. Not sad at all, I was actually thinking, 'RIGHT ON, NEVILLE!'
Antonin Dolohov: Killed by Flitwick. I was laughing cause he died. He was a Death Eater, so he deserved it after killing Molly Weasley's brothers, Remus, and Tonks.
Bellatrix Lestrange: HAHA BITCH. I was so happy when Molly Weasley killed Bella. Bella was dueling Hermione, Luna, and Ginny all at once. Mrs. W saw this and ran over to her, saying, 'NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!' and they dueled. Mrs. Weasley eventually killed her.
Voldemort: Finally. After God knows how many years of killing and torturing innocent people... destroying so many lives in numerous battles, and cursing one innocent baby forever. It was ironic, cause Voldemort actually killed himself. His Avada Kedavra spell bounced off of Harry's spell and hit him instead, killing himself. ROT IN HELL YOU BASTARD.
:D
The epilogue was so incredibly worthless. We all know that Hermione and Ron get together, as well as Ginny and Harry. Duh. We didn't need some stupid epilogue with weird names like 'Rose', 'Hugo', 'Scorpius', 'Albus Severus', 'James', and 'Lily' as kids. Dumb.
But the book was great, it was filled with non-stop action and cute moments between Ron and Hermione. Overall - one of the best HP books yet. :)
